Position Summary

We seek to hire a positive, energetic, and self-motivated individual to assist in the production of high quality large format posters, banners, vinyl decals and small signs. This individual will operate and maintain large format equipment including all printers, cutters, and other finishing equipment

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain all Canon Flatbed and roll-fed and printers as well as a Zund CNC machine.
  • Accurately handle and store all production materials.
  • Utilize industry software such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop along with Onyx Rip software to accurately and efficiently produces products.
  • Print, cut and apply vinyl graphics to small signs, vehicles, windows, and other substrates.
  • Perform thorough cleaning and quality checks of all products produced to ensure companies high standards are maintained.
  • Update print management software to ensure orders are completed in a timely a manor.
  • Follow and identify new department procedures to increase production efficiencies and help maintain a 24-hour turnaround time on standard products.
  • Order and maintain appropriate levels of all large format materials and source new materials as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance and ensure proper cleanliness of all printers, cutters, work station, and production area.
  • Operate and maintain finishing equipment including, laminators, grommeters, industrial sewing machine, and edge finishers.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest printing and CNC technologies and materials by networking with other professionals, vendors, and attending workshops.
  • Provide backup support to bindery and other production departments.
  • Take initiative to go above & beyond the job description for the betterment of the company.

Experience & Qualifications

At least two years of experience working in the printing industry or in a production/quality control environment.

 

Candidates should have previous experience:
  • Operating roll fed and flatbed printers.
  • Operating CNC cutters.
  • Maintaining shop equipment, as well as troubleshooting and diagnosing machine failure.
  • Operating basic hand and power tools for custom fabrication.
  • Previous experience operating digital printers is a plus.

This individual will also assist in the production of high quality large format posters, banners, vinyl decals and small signs and will operate and maintain large format equipment including all printers, cutters, and other finishing equipment.

  • Contribute and lead high-level discussions about department operations and company growth.
  • Drive department sales to meet daily and monthly sales goals.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest printing, CNC technologies, and new materials by networking with other professionals, vendors, and attending workshops.
  • Develop and implement new processes to increase productivity while maintaining quality standards and manage production workflow to ensure Shortprinter’s fast turnaround time and high quality standards are met and exceeded.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment is always maintained and all production materials are handled and stored accurately.
